At Gold Hill, we run a vibrant programme of activities for under 11s (see below). As well as our weekly programme, we have one-off events such as light parties, holiday clubs and much more – information about these can be found on the notice board and on our Facebook page. It Is our desire to create a community that thrives together and also has lots of fun! Our team makes sure that every child feels safe, valued and welcome.
Our prayer is that every child experiences the love of God and grows in their relationship with Him in a personal and real way. In every session we run, there is a bible message, whether that be a story at Toddler Praise, a short Bible thought at Hub Night or a more in-depth look in our Sunday morning groups. The Bible is explored in age-appropriate and relevant ways, engaging with different learning styles, to create a space for lifelong learning.
We want to make sure that our groups are accessible to all. If your child has additional needs, please get in touch with Shona (see below) so we can ensure your child feels safe and comfortable.
If you have any questions or would like to have a further conversation about what goes on for the under 11s – please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Meet Shona, our Children's Ministry Lead
“I want to shatter the myth that children’s experience of God is somehow of less value than that of adults. At Gold Hill, as in the Bible, God uses children to teach us deep truths, and I love being part of releasing that in them.”
(Shona Hunter-Singh, Children’s Worker)
What Groups do we have going on?
On Sundays during our 10:30 Gathering, we have groups for all different age groups. These all include play, craft, Bible stories and fun together. We have great teams running each of these groups, so you can leave your children in safe hands, but if you want to stay with them for all or part of the time you’re welcome to do that too. Outside of Sundays, we have lots of things going on, as below.
Tots & Tinies (ages 0–3)
A warm and caring environment where our little ones experience God’s love through play, singing and story time.
Toddler Praise – Fridays, 10–11:30am
A welcoming group for under 4s and their parents and carers. Each week we get out a wide range of toys, soft play and crafts as we create community together. We also have a Bible story and a time of praise which often includes getting out the parachute and our bubble machine!
Minis (ages 3–5)
An exciting morning of craft, Bible stories, songs and games
Half Term Tea Parties
We are hoping to run half termly tea parties with a theme and explore a story in the Bible. In October 2021 we had a teddy bears picnic with crafts, cupcakes and the story of the feeding of the 5000.
Kids (ages 5–7)
A time to learn together and experience God through the Bible, prayer, games and craft.
Sunshine Hub (4–5pm)
On the first Wednesday of every month, we meet for an hour filled with lots of fun. It is a great opportunity for children to grow in their friendships with each other through a wide range of activities as well as hearing Bible truths.
Kids (ages 7–11)
A place to grow in their understanding of the Bible through engaging activities and to thrive in all that God has made them to be
Hub Night – Thursdays, 6:15–7:30pm
An exciting programme full of a wide range of activities from craft nights to trips out. A safe place for children to spend time with their friends and to make new ones. Each week hear a short bible thought that is age appropriate and applicable for all.
Coming in 2022
Gifted – A creative space for 5-11s to explore the gifts and talents that God has given them. These will run in blocks looking at creative gifts such as art, music, dance etc.
Explore – A short course where children can explore what faith is and ask any questions they may have.
