Gold Hill is a Christian church that was established in Chalfont St Peter over 250 years ago. We are committed to being a church that serves people in Chalfont St Peter, the local area, the UK, and throughout the world. We offer a place where anyone can encounter God, find community, and grow in faith.
Prior to 2021, our building was located at the top of Gold Hill Common—this is where our name comes from. In 2021, we opened our new Hub building, which gives us exciting new opportunities to be involved in the heart of community life. It’s a place where we meet to worship God, and it also serves as a location for community events and activities.
We have a thriving children’s and youth ministry, including Sunday school groups at 10:30 am, a youth-led worship gathering on Sunday evenings, and many mid-week activities. We are involved in leading and supporting the Chalfont Youth Centre.
Our aim is to be a blessing to our local community. Part of this involves providing services that the community needs—groups for toddlers, family events during school holidays, activities for children, youth groups, lunch for the elderly, and a food bank for the hungry. Our modern Hub building is available as a community resource with rooms for hire. We offer prayer to the community through our Heavenly Wellness Café and Prayer on the Street.
We also aim to make a difference throughout the world. People from Gold Hill have traveled to every continent to share the news about Jesus or to support local churches.
Gold Hill Baptist Church continues to be a vibrant community of faith, dedicated to worship, discipleship, and outreach. Its rich history and commitment to its values have established it as a cornerstone of the Chalfont St Peter community, impacting lives both locally and globally.
Above all, we are followers of Jesus. The main thing that distinguishes us is that our lives have been transformed through an encounter with Jesus. We would love others to experience that for themselves. Please join us for a Sunday gathering, attend one of our other events, or simply pop in for a chat. We promise you a warm welcome.
Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV UK)
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
