Babies, Toddlers - Pre-School

In the first few years of life children learn a huge number of basic motor skills such as walking, talking, feeding and dressing themselves. In those early years, they learn basic relational skills and have their view of the world shaped by what goes on around them.
Because they are constantly learning, we believe it is crucial that we teach them the things of God from their earliest days. We want them to grow up knowing and loving Jesus. To that end, we take seriously our responsibility to care for and teach them on Sunday mornings at Gold Hill.
We have a great team of people who provide care and teaching for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers at our 10.30 morning services. Your child will be welcomed into a group where the activities are suited to their developmental stage.
We have groups for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Children move from babies to toddlers when they are walking, and ready for the next level of activities. They move into the pre-school group around their third birthday. The age groups are not fixed because we need to be flexible in juggling the size of different groups. Parents and teachers chat together to decide when children are ready to ‘move up’.
We are committed to make coming to church a positive and happy experience for every child in our care. We want them to know that they are loved, and to feel welcome in the family of God. The service leader will indicate when it is time for children and young people to leave for their classes. This gives us a time to celebrate as the church family together, but it also allows for children to be taught in classes appropriate to their age and development.
