Run The Race 2012

Run the Race is an exciting project that brings local churches together to serve the local community during the Olympic Games in 2012.
We are now recruiting volunteers to help us this summer, so please do take some time to complete the application form and conisder how you might be able to help us serve the community. You can click the icon below to register on line - you will be taken to a different website, and please be assured all your responses are secure and kept confidential. You can start your form, and come back to it later if you need to.

What commitment do I need to make?
We are looking for volunteers who will be able to give anything from one day to two weeks to Run The Race between July 27th 2012 and August 12th. In previous years of timebreaker most volunteers gave a week of their time. We appreicate that this is during the Olympic Period and you will want to watch the games where you can. We will be providing facilities to enable this and creating a hub of activity for everyone in the community to gather.
What will I be doing?
The format will for the most part be similar to Timebreakers in the past - with children and youth activites, along with hospitality, stewarding, site and administraion help needed. There is something for everyone to take part in. We can give you a selection of options on the r
I want to volunteer - but I have children
If you have a young family, and still want to take part in Run The Race, you are more than welcome to enroll your children in the various programmes whilst you volunteer. We of course want to make sure there are plenty of spaces for children in the community and maintain safe ratios - so if you are volunteering with children - why don't you try and encourage someone else to volunteer as well...? The more volunteers - the more children we can take.
CRB Checks
It will be a requirement for all people to have a current CRB check issued by either Gold HIll, St. Peter, St. James or Bucks County Council - we will also be taking up references for all volunteers. It is one of our aims to provide a safe and positive environment for everyone.

What is the Connection between Run the Race and Timebreaker?
Run the Race is the name for the whole project of Local Churches workign together to make the most of the Games. Timebreaker is a well-known and trusted name in the local community with lots of experience in providing safe and fun summer activites. Timebreaker will be organsing the main activites on Gold Hill common under the Run the Race Banner.
When do I need to register by
We need early indications of the numbers of volunteers as soon as posbbile - by February we will be making decisions on what age groups we will be able to cater for, based on the number of volunteers.
I have a question...
If you have a question, not answered above, please send us a quick note and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
