Compline

During special weeks in the life of the church at Gold Hill we have a series of evening meetings called Compline.

Compline is an English word derived from the Latin word completorium - it marks the completion of the working day.  The word was first used to describe these evening prayers in the 6th Century.

Of course, you don't need to be in church to say Compline - many people use it on a regular basis before going to bed. If you want some Compline prayers and readings we would recommend those from the Northumbria Community.

Compline is a time of quietness after a busy day. We let go of all the tensions, frustrations, excitment and noise of the day and we focus again on God and his peace and understanding.

We will add details here when the next opportunities for Compline are arranged and we would be delighted if you could join us.
