We run several different parenting courses for parents and carers of: 0-6's, 7-11's and teenagers.  Please contact Katrina Reading for the latest course dates using the contact details below.

What is the parenting course?

The course is a practical course designed to teach good parenting skills and to enhance family life.  It is an opportunity to meet people who are experiencing the same issues and to learn from one another. It is held over eight sessions at weekly intervals. Important topics are covered and discussed in small groups.

Topics include:
  • Listening skills
  • Quality time
  • Discipline
  • Behaviour
  • How to encourage our children
  • Talking with our children
What's involved?

In every session there is a short video presentation introducing the week's topic. Case studies are then discussed to help parents apply the input to a typical family situation. There will also be opportunity to feedback experiences with the children from the previous week. There is a break for refreshments during the evening and the courses are held in a welcoming, non-threatening environment.

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for any parent or carer of a child who wants to be better equipped of just better informed.

What will it cost?

The cost of the course is £30 per person (£40 per couple) and this includes the Family Caring Trust Course book and refreshmenrts. (Reduced rates are available for those on benefits.)
