What to expect
We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00am and 10.30am and in the evening at 6:30pm. If you come to one of our services, you'll be joining about 200 other people to experience:
- Singing - we're grateful to God for what he has done, excited about what he's going to do and awestruck by who he is, so we sing to him and to one aonther about it.
- Preaching - some of our church members are good at helping us to understand God and how to live his way. They talk to us for 30 minutes or so about God, the Bible, life and all sorts of related issues.
- Listening - we believe that God speaks to us when we read the Bible and by prompting members of the congregation to bring a message from God.
- Praying - We believe that God changes things when we ask him to, so we ask him to change us and to make the world a better place. Sometimes these prayers are led from the front & sometimes the floor is opened up for anyone to pray.
The service is led by one of our worship team, a preacher and a member of the church leadership team, who are at the front of the church.
During the service you can expect us to take an offering - bags are normally passed around the congregation and the money received goes to the work of the church. You should feel under no obligation to put anything in, in fact many people don't put money in the offering bags because they give through other means.
The first morning service lasts for just one hour. It has a primary focus on studying and responding to God's Word, and there is no specific provision for children at this time. During the second morning service, children and young people are in the main church for the first fifteen minutes, after which time they go out to their relevant groups. You are more than welcome to bring your children to their appropriate room - one of the stewards will help you, alternatively there are signs telling you where each group is located.
If you do visit us, please make yourself known - the people around you will be friendly and if you are a first-time visitor we'll give you a gift - a 'Gold Hill Mug' that you can take down to The Myrtle Tree (our tea shop in the village) during the week and get free cup hot drink! On a regular basis we serve refreshments after the 2nd morning service, and both before and after the evening service.
We hope you enjoy your visit - if you have any other questions, please complete the contact form below and someone will get back to you!
